Oskar’s capacity and experience attract a clientele often suffering repeated trauma; complicated grief; chronic illness, disease and pain; ability /disability, heavy neglect, domestic violence, childhood abuse, compassion fatigue, major depression; family issues, relationship struggles, spiritual concerns, generalized anxiety, professional artistic dormancy or creative block, life transition, personal growth, loneliness, and heartache. Oskar is currently working with individuals age 18 years of age to nearly 100 years of age, including individuals of diverse faith perspectives and heritage. Some of Oskar’s clients are-or-have-been healthcare workers, DV staff, naval captains, healthcare professionals, crisis workers, clergy, tribal government employees, loggers, teachers, real estate professionals, nurses, truck drivers, physical therapists, unemployed, home health care aids, stay-at-home dads, firefighters, students, social workers, engineers, food service workers, 911 staff, single mothers, case workers, pilots, writers, special education teachers, refinery workers, musicians, chefs, coders, managers, sailors, nursing assistants, gang members, day-traders, unhoused, scientists, painters, machinists, financial planners. university department heads, truck drivers, hackers, non-profit staff, retired, administrators, fisherfolk, mediators, small business owners, elected government officials, and certainly those working full time in care of family or their own disease, dying, or survival process
My work melds approaches from multiple counseling theories in a way that varies depending on your needs - and authentic empathy with a respectful non-directive therapeutic alliance is most often the base —> trauma informed, grief informed, and formative. Although I’m an old man with lots of life experience and even more intuition, I also hope we learn together with yours.
Whether you’ve been through so much that nobody believes you or whether you are young with first-love-sadness, you’re important! Pain is neither too large nor too small to share with me.
